Classes
Ballet Levels
We offer six levels of Ballet classes. At higher levels the class duration increases to meet the specific needs of
that level. More advanced dancers need more training at longer intervals to increase endurance. Progression is
based on skill mastery, not age, so sometimes students will progress faster or slower When a dancer begins
Ballet 1 it is normal for them to spend two or more years at a level. As dancers advance, they will spend more time
in each level.
Ballet 5/Pointe 1
Ballet 5 students dance 4 hours per week in two 1.5 hour technique classes and one 1 hour
pointe class. Ballet 5 dancers may also enroll in Jazz and/or Modern. Advanced Ballet 5
dancers may be invited to participate in one 1.5 hour Ballet 6 technique class.
Ballet 1 and Ballet 1J
These classes each meet one hour per week. Students work toward mastering basic ballet
skills to provide a strong foundation . Ballet 1J students must enroll in Jazz .
Ballet 2 and Ballet 3
These levels have two 1 hour classes each week. Ballet 2 and Ballet 3 students have the
option to enroll in Jazz.
Ballet 6/Pointe 2
Ballet 6 students dance 5.5 hours per week in three 1.5 hour technique classes and one 1 hour
pointe class. Ballet 6 dancers may also enroll in Jazz and/or Modern. Ballet 6 dancers may
also be invited to participate in special events and master classes.

Ballet 4/Primary Pointe
Ballet 4 students dance 4 hours per week in two 1.5 hour technique classes plus 1 hour of
Primary Pointe. In Primary Pointe dancers work to prepare and strengthen their bodies to
support themselves en pointe. Our staff determines when a dancer is ready for pointe shoes
on an individual basis. This is very important for their safety. Ballet 4 dancers may also enroll in
Jazz.
Jazz and Modern
Students enrolled in Ballet 1J or higher levels may also enroll in Jazz. Additionally Ballet 5 and 6
students may enroll in Modern.
Adult Ballet Sessions
This fall Ballet Caliente is pleased to offer Adult Ballet on Friday from 11:30-12:30 pm. Learn to do ballet
at the ballet barre to strengthen, tone, and lengthen muscles while forming correct posture. You will
also learn to stretch correctly to create strong, flexible muscles. All levels are welcome. Adult students
may register annually, by session or as drop in students.
Late enrollments are prorated. For more information please email info@balletcaliente.com.

Teaching the art of dancing.
Pre-Ballet Classes
Our Pre-Ballet classes are designed to introduce our youngest dancers to many of the dance concepts including
terminology, movements and musicality in a fun and safe environment. Much of their learning is done through the
use of imaginative play and games that develop skills such as core strength, balance and flexibility. The classes
are 45 minutes long once per week.
Pre-Ballet 1, Pre-Ballet 2, Pre-Ballet 3 and Pre-Ballet 4 are designed for our 3 and 4 year old dancers. Students
must be 3 years old by September 1 and able to use the bathroom independently. These students perform in their
very own recital in May each year. This recital allows the youngest dancers to be on the stage for a greater duration
and does not task them with lengthy rehearsals prior to the recital or spending an entire show backstage as
required of our older student who perform in our story ballet. Our goal is to have the first stage experience of our
youngest dancers be a positive one.
Primary Ballet
Primary Ballet students must be 5 years old by September 1 to enroll in the class. While they still learn through
games and imaginative play, these students begin to transition to regular ballet by performing in our original story
ballet in June.
