Ballet Caliente
Classical School of Dance
Performance Philosophy

We present our end of year show in June of each year.   Ballet Caliente presents an original story ballet showcasing our
students in Kinderballet through Ballet 6, all Jazz classes and Modern.  The reason for presenting a story ballet is two-fold.
First, assigning characters and roles helps the children to feel that they are part of something bigger thus creating a bond that
allows them to function as a team learning life lessons as well as dance lessons.  Although it makes for countless more
rehearsal hours and is a much harder task for the students and teachers, we feel the benefits are worth the effort.  Secondly, a
story ballet is much more entertaining to the audience than watching class after class perform routines.  Our story ballets and
recitals are open to the public.  Tickets go on sale on in April.

Our youngest dancers in Pre-Ballet 1, Pre-Ballet 2, Pre-Ballet 3 and Pre-Ballet 4 perform in their very own recital in May of each
year.  We want their first stage experience to be a positive one as just stepping on stage is a huge accomplishment.  Our goal
is to give them maximum time on stage without all of the additional rehearsal time required of our older dancers.  Also
featured are our Jazz Ensemble, Modern and Adult Ballet  students along with our student choreographers.

We also participate in collaborative performances with COSMIC Orchestra and  The River Concert Series.
