The Ballet Caliente Summer Intensive guides students in their ballet technical skills as well as other dance forms that compliment a ballet artist.
The program is held from 3:00p.m. - 6:30p.m. at Ballet Caliente's beautiful studio in California, Maryland. Unlike big company intensives, our summer students are exposed to exceptional individual attention and corrections. This program offers unparalleled training by a distinguished staff of Ballet Caliente instructors. In addition to the four weeks of Intensives, students have the opportunity to enroll in two Guest Instructor Workshops, as well as Technique+ Training sessions. Summer Intensive Program F.A.Q's
DO I NEED TO ENROLL IN ALL 4 WEEKS OF THE PROGRAM?
No! You can enroll your dancer in one, two, three, or all four weeks of the Summer Intensive Program. Keep in mind, only dancers who ARE enrolled in all 4 weeks will be eligible to participate in the in-studio performance.
WHAT OTHER CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE?
Dancers at this level are invited to partake in our Guest Instructor Workshop Series, as well as our Technique+ Training.
WHAT ABOUT LUNCH?
Dancers participating in our full day programs will need to bring a lunch with them each day. They will be given a break mid day to relax and enjoy their lunch, before continuing into afternoon classes.
WHAT SHOULD MY DANCER WEAR TO SUMMER CLASSES?
We know that many new students join us during the summer! That's why our dress code is more relaxed during this time. Students may choose to wear their class leotard, if they are a returning dancer, or a leotard of their choice. All female dance students will need pink or skin-toned ballet slippers and pink or skin-toned tights as well. Boys should select black leggings (or form fitting black pants) and a white form-fitting shirt. More information on our year-round dress code can be found by clicking here.
If you have never shopped for ballet flats (slippers) before, please visit a dance store to ensure your student has the best brand/style for their feet. Many of our families enjoy shopping with In Motion Dance Shoppe, which is located directly below our studio. Hair must be in a bun, or pulled away from the face in a neat and tidy manner, for all classes.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END OF SUMMER IF I'D LIKE TO CONTINUE?
Placement letters will be emailed at the end of July for all summer students. This will tell you which class level you should register your child for in August.
