Sara Reed, Instructor
Sara began her training at the age of 7 in Everett, Washington and attended Reflections School of Dance, under the direction of Debbie Wiens. Sara took classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, pointe, and took part in the Jr. Performing Team. Sara was the youngest to apprentice the Sr. Performing team simultaneously participating with the Jr. Performing team and soon was added to the Sr. Performing Team. At the age of 12 she attended the Ballet Academy of Performing Arts in Edmonds, Washington and continued study at both schools. Under the instruction Lana McGinnis and Bethany Weed, Sara studied ballet and point more intensely as well as contemporary. Sara and her family participated in the Nutcracker performances at the studio for 3 years. She performed in the Waltz of the Flowers, as a Latin Chocolate, and in a leading role as the Flower Queen. Her last few years in high school Sara participated in Hip Hop, jazz, and breakdance with her brother, Mason and expanded her range of dance styles at Applause studio in Everett , Washington. At BYU-Idaho University, Sara taught and trained in Latin dance for 3 years and hosted Latin dance events on campus for college students to learn the 3 Latin styles of Bachata, Merengue, and Salsa. She also learned and performed in the Polynesian group for Dance Culture Night. Sara’s most recent dance work has been through World Gym, teaching the community Zumba and Barre for 2 years. With over 16 years of dance experience, Sara is a strong dancer and continuously finds ways to teach others dance in her community. She is excited to teach another generation of dancers and help them achieve their dreams. |
