Nimbly ShopAt Ballet Caliente, dancers wear particular colors to denote which level they are in. We require each of our dancers to shop for their class uniform through our Nimbly Shop. Please, pay close attention to your dancer's level requirements, and be sure to check each item's size chart for correct measurements.
Nimbly allows you to search by level (Level 1, Level 2 etc.), to find all of your dancer's classes and uniform requirements. Parents will need to create login credentials to view the full range of colors and sizes and to order. |
BALLET UNIFORMS
- Class Uniform is REQUIRED for all classes and rehearsals. Students are required to be in uniform by October 1st.
- Skirt Day (optional) is the first week of every month.
- Female dancers DO NOT wear underwear. If necessary, purchase specific dance undergarments.
- Young ladies who are menstruating may wear black tights and black dance shorts. Dancers should be prepared with items like extra ballet outfits and feminine products in their dance bag. Nude dance undergarments or period activewear are also good options; however, they are not required. Instructors will not question why a dancer is wearing black tights to class. Dancers do not need to ask permission to wear these items.
- Dance sweaters and legwarmers allowed for warm-up only.
- T-shirts, sweatpants, plastic pants, gym shorts, and baggy or loose-fitting items are not permitted.
- Only small stud earrings allowed. No necklaces, bracelets, or watches.
- Dance Bag required.

- “Poppy” leotards from LuckyLeo are optional for Studio Company. *Discontinued by LuckyLeo, however, still acceptable if already owned.

Pink, or a shade to match dancer's skin tone. Note: all skin tone tights must coordinate with dancer's shoe color. No Target or Walmart brands
Note: please measure your child's foot and refer to the Nimbly size chart. Parent feedback has indicated that the shoes run small/narrow and dancers may need to size up.
Pointe Shoes
Fitting is dancer specific; please check with instructor for more information.
Boys
White T-shirt with Black men’s tights or leggings, white socks, dance belt (athletic supporter) for older dancers,

Adults
Adults are welcome to wear their choice of leotard, tights and skirt, or leggings and a well fitting top. Ballet slippers are required.
JAZZ UNIFORMS
Students wear their colored class leotards and tights.
Shoes: Girls - Tan Split Sole Jazz slip-on shoe, no laces.
Boys - Black Split Sole Jazz slip-on shoe.
Pants: Black jazz pant, with shaped waistband and a boot cut or black jazz shorts (these items are optional).

CONTEMPORARY & ACRO UNIFORMS
Contemporary students wear their colored class leotards with stirrup tights in tan (skin tone appropriate). Acro students may roll their transition tights to be barefoot.
TAP UNIFORMS
Students wear their colored class leotards and tights with tap shoes. Shoes for beginning levels (Pre, Primary & Ballet 1) and intermediate levels (Ballet 2, Ballet 3, Ballet 4) can be found in our Nimbly Shop. Dancers in Advanced Tap (Ballet 5, Junior & Studio Company) can follow the link below for a heeled character style tap shoe.
