Ballet Levels
We offer six levels of Ballet classes.  At higher levels the class duration increases to meet the specific needs of that level.  More advanced dancers need more training at longer intervals to increase endurance. Progression is based on skill mastery, not age, so sometimes students will progress faster or slower. When a dancer begins Ballet 1 it is normal for them to spend two or more years at a level.  As dancers advance, they will spend more time in each level.

Ballet 1 - Offered Tuesday,  Thursday and Saturday (meets once a week)
For beginning dancers ages 6 and up. This class meets one hour per week.  Students work toward mastering basic ballet skills to provide a strong foundation.  Students may opt to also enroll in Beginning Tap and Jazz 1.
Register for Ballet 1 on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday

Ballet 2  (meets twice a week)
This level has two 1 hour classes each week.   Students may OPT to take the Jazz 2 class that immediately follows and/or Beginning Tap.
Register for Ballet 2 on Monday/Wednesday

Ballet 3 (meets twice a week)
This level has two 1.5 hour classes each week.  Ballet 3 students have the option to enroll in Jazz 3, Modern 3, Intermediate Tap and/or Int/Open Technique class.
Register for Ballet 3

Ballet 4/Pointe 4
Ballet 4 students dance 5.5 hours per week in three 1.5 hour technique classes plus 1 hour of primary pointe  (Pointe 4).  In Pointe 4, dancers work to prepare and strengthen their bodies to support themselves en pointe.  Our staff determines when a dancer is ready for pointe shoes on an individual basis.  This is very important for their safety. Ballet 4 dancers may also enroll in Jazz 4 and/or Modern 4, and/or Intermediate Tap.  These dancers also have the option of enrolling in INT/Open Technique.
Register for Ballet 4

Ballet 5/Pointe 5
Ballet 5 students dance 7 hours per week in four 1.5 hour technique classes and one 1 hour pointe class.   Ballet 5 dancers may also enroll in Jazz 5 and/or Modern 5, and/or Advanced Tap, and/or INT/Open Technique and/or Barre D.

At Ballet Caliente, dancers wear particular colors to denote which level they are in.  We require each of our dancers to wear the Capezio brand of leotard.  Short sleeves, camisoles and tank strap style choices are acceptable for all levels.  Please, no leotards with attached skirts.

Dancers and their families do not need to purchase leotards from Amazon.  The link is provided to point families in the correct direction of color and general style.
