CLASSES

Understanding Level Placement
UNDERSTANDING LEVEL PLACEMENT
Although teachers are always assessing students year-round, fall placement is determined in late July during summer dance so that teachers can make recommendations, taking into account progress made over the summer, and placement letters are sent via e-mail in early August.

Dancers in level 3-5 will be placed in their current level UNLESS through summer classes teachers feel promotion is warranted. However, we consider each dancer’s progression through October and occasionally make recommendations for promotion in early autumn. If a dancer needs to make a class change, you will be notified as soon as possible.

Preference is given to current dancers UNTIL August 8. Then, classes are open. If you are moving or your dancer decides to pursue other interests, we would greatly appreciate you informing us by emailing Katrina Okoniewski

Generally speaking you can expect the following:
Level 1: Age 6-11 with 2-3 years in level
Level 2: Age 7 and up with 2-3 years in level
Level 3: Age 8 and up with 3-4 years in level
Level 4: Age 10 and up with 3-4 years in level
Level 5: Age 12 and up
