Mandy Long
Mandy started at Ballet Caliente when she was four years old and continued until her graduation in 2019. In her time at the studio she played many roles including Mr. Darcy in Peter Pan, The Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, The Cat in The Ugly Duckling, a Russian Dancer in The Nutcracker (three times!), and her favorite, Maxine in Where the Wild Things Are. In addition to her study at Ballet Caliente, she also held the dance scholarship at St. Mary’s Ryken where she developed her love for contemporary dance and choreography, culminating in an advanced concept piece about the Berlin Wall her senior year. She began teaching at Ballet Caliente at the age of 15 as an assistant teacher and eventually branched out to other styles and teaching independently.
Mandy currently attends The George Washington University where she studies Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in aerospace and a minor in math. At school she is a member of GW Balance, a dance group for people of all skill levels and styles. Before joining Balance, she had a brief involvement with an on-campus K-Pop dance group called District K.
